Your eyes and your vision are the ultimate sense.  Getting comprehensive eye exams regularly is  essential in maintaining healthy eyes and vision. Doctors of Optometry are trained to diagnose and treat many eye diseases in order to prevent blindness.

How often should I get my eyes examined?

Adults should be examined at least every one to two years. Contact lens wearers, Diabetics, and many other eye diseases require exams yearly or more often, if necessary.

At what age should children get their eyes examined?

Children should be checked yearly, beginning before kindergarten.  If any eye or vision problems are noticed at any age, please get them checked.

If I have 20/20 vision, why do I need an eye exam?

Everyone should have an eye exam regularly to detect sight-threatening eye diseases in the early stages. If caught early, blindness can be prevented.
